Marymead has been operating in the Canberra and surrounding NSW region for 51 years, delivering therapeutic and support services to meet the needs of children, young people and families in the community. Our organisation has a justifiable reputation for the delivery of high quality services to support vulnerable children, young people and families.
Marymead’s Family and Relationship Services Unit contains therapeutic family, child and young person, mental health and educational programs aimed at transforming the lives of vulnerable children and young people including the Circle of Security – Intensive parenting course (CoS-I).
We are after a dynamic person to help assist staff to look after our clients’ children whilst they are engaged in the Circle of Security Parenting Course.
This course aims to improve attachment between parent/carers and their children, thus facilitating healthy and rewarding relationships and improving emotional well-being. In order to participate in this group with minimal distraction or barriers to participation, we provide care for client’s children during the session.
Our next CoS-I will be held for a period of approximately 18 weeks from 17 February 2021.
Tasks and Responsibilities include: • Care for and ensure the safety of children whilst parents are attending the COS-I program • Interact positively with children • Provision of engaging activities for the children • Set up and pack up of any activities • Additional tasks such as administration or compiling activity packs if participant numbers are low • Other tasks as required

For additional support during the project, you will be supported by the Client Pathways Officer, the Family Counselling Team Leader and the Student Placement and Volunteer Coordinator.
You will undergo a comprehensive Marymead organisational induction before commencing in the position.
