A volunteer grower raises native seedlings in their backyard over summer from seed until they are ready for planting. A complete growing kit is provided with seeds, soil, planting tubes, boxes, fertiliser and a Grower's Handbook. Trees for Life provides assistance and advice throughout growing period.

After attending a 1 day training workshop (half day theory, half day in field) volunteers will participate in weed management (forking out weeds, cutting, clubbing and herbicide). Average 50 hours per year.
