Pain Support Group Facilitators - Adelaide

The facilitator of a pain support group (PSG) helps the group to: share their experiences of living with chronic pain, educate the group about self-management techniques and to effectively use healthcare settings. The PSG provides an avenue for people with pain to socialise with others and reduce the isolation of chronic pain. The group meets once a month for 1.5 to 2 hours.

Trees for Life requires volunteer bushcarers working at one or a number of native bushland locations on the Fleurieu Peninsula eg Victor Harbor, Encounter Bay, Goolwa, Finniss, Strathalbyn and more. After attending a 1 day training workshop (half day theory, half day in field) volunteers will participate in weed management (forking out weeds, cutting, clubbing and herbicide). Average 50 hours per year.

Mairi's Garden situated at Eastwood Community Centre is built as a sensory garden engagement of young children, families, elderly adults, people with a disability. Volunteers maintain our garden growing new plants, propagating, planting, weeding, mulching. We have a large number of succulent plants which are potted for sale to the public. A new initiative we are about to embark on is a "Grow Free" initiative where we share seeds and excess fruit and produce.
