The Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) supports refugees from the moment they arrive at the airport. Upon arrival, the HSP team provides essential support and information to assist and empower refugees to gain independence and build strong community connections. Community Support Assistants build on the case management support offered to clients of HSP by guiding access to local services, support with life skills development, local community linkages and building social networks.
Share your love of arts and craft projects with elderly aged care residents at HammondCare Waratah. You'll be engaging with aged care residents enjoying art and craft projects together. Show off your creative and artistic skills as you assist people to create their own pieces.
Share your love of music with our residents in our HammondCare dementia cottages at Waratah. Bring your own instrument to play some tunes or help lead a sing-along.
Ever fancied being a Bingo Caller?! Looking for a something to do that enables others to have fun too? Why not give bingo-calling a go? Aged care residents in our care look forward to a weekly Bingo game in Waratah.
Come together with residents in the Waratah aged care home in to knit. These residents who are living with dementia, have knitted in the past and just need some gentle reminders about how the magic happens. You could be the person to bring them together to enjoy each other’s company and resurrect a relaxing hobby.
Enjoy the great outdoors and spend time in the sunshine as you stroll around Waratah, as you walk alongside elderly residents from HammondCare aged care home. You'll be helping people to maintain their mobility as well as their healthy wellbeing.
Make everyone’s day by pushing a trolley with all kinds of sweet treats around to residents who are living with dementia. You’ll bring joy to each person every time you enter the room.

Calling all "kids at heart"! The Newcastle and Hunter Toy Library is seeking a regular volunteer to assist with the running of the Toy Library sessions on Saturday mornings. The Toy Library is a terrific service based at New Lambton Library and run entirely by volunteers.
