Kingston East Neighbourhood Group Inc.'s (KENG) Reception/Administration Officer role requires support to respond with compassion and service knowledge to community members accessing the organisation. KENG's reception is often the first point of contact for community members to the organisation in person and via the phone. Reception can also be the first point of contact for funding bodies, local councillors and other stakeholders. The position is vital to the smooth operation of KENG.
The helpline was established in 2010, and is the only such service in Australia helping people living with pain. Guides have a personal connection to chronic pain and are able to support callers with chronic pain.
The Emergency Relief Program at Kingston East Neighbourhood Group Inc. provides financially vulnerable community members with crisis financial support. This support includes food parcels, Gift Cards (from Coles) and assistance in paying overdue bills such as Electricity and Rent. The program has recently expanded to include the No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS) - a loan program to purchase white goods such as refrigerators and washing machines without interest repayments for eligible clients.
