Assist with Day Club activities such as group discussions, games, quizzes. Assist serving morning tea and Lunch to members. Orient new members and visitors, help them to feel at ease. Assist and encourage conversation between members.
Assist members in/out of vehicles and walk in/out of home and Club. Ensure use of seat belts. Must be available before and after Club meeting times.
Prepare venue before members arrive – unlocking, turn off security systems, turn on heating, set out furniture, fill and turn on the urn. At the end of the day, ensure venue is cleared, clean, tidy and secure and electrical appliances are off.
Responsible for preparing & leading the gentle exercise programme (GEP) provided by Dept. of Veterans Affairs. Understand the principles behind the GEP * ensure GEP is appropriate for frail, older adults.
