Story Dogs
You and your dog can help children find the magic in becoming lifelong readers. The Coordinator and their dog will commence as a volunteer reading team and will then receive training to take on the Coordinator position. The Coordinator will recruit, train, support and give recognition to volunteers within their region. The position will also raise awareness of the Story Dogs brand and services. This is a non paid, volunteer role. This role requires you to have a suitable dog.

Our four pillars of work include: prevention and early detection, supporting the community to live optimally with macular conditions, systemic advocacy and research. There are an estimated 1.4m Australians with some evidence of age-related macular degeneration, which is the most common macular disease.

MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.

We are looking for a volunteers to bring Joy and Companionship to Aged Care Residents. Are you looking to make a meaningful difference in someone's life? Join us as a volunteer for the ACVVS program and help improve the quality of life for residents who have limited family and social contact.
