We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Office Assistant. This role is available up to 3 days per week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Office hours are from 10 am to 3 pm. Office duties will include computer entry, taking telephone calls, general administration and minor office cleaning. No previous experience is required, but familiarity with Windows 10 or the equivalent is preferred.
Attending court can be challenging and distressing, especially if it is your first time. CRC’s trained volunteers provide information on court processes, where to seek advice, and emotional support to people attending local courts across NSW. Legal advice is not provided in this role.
Join Local Land Services and Clean4Shore to remove waste from our precious waterways, protect migratory bird habitat, and contribute towards the Australian Marine Debris Initiative citizen science program. Working on the Hunter River, our team sets out in Clean4Shore’s barge to collect debris from mangroves and tidal flats. The debris collected will be sampled to add records to the AMDI database before sending to landfill.
Join Local Land Services' Volunteer Land Management team. Meeting at our depot on Ash Island, we travel (usually up to one hour) throughout the Hunter region to rehabilitate natural areas. Jobs include: - planting preparation and maintenance (mowing, slashing, digging holes using an auger, spraying, mulching, watering) - planting - weed control (Lantana, Privet, Bitou Bush and Boneseed, exotic vines and grasses, African Olive, Asparagus weeds, and the list goes on!) - marine debris removal

Educate learners on vehicle controls, road rules, defensive driving techniques, and manoeuvres to pass driving tests. The role involves tailoring lessons to suit each student’s abilities, instilling safe driving habits, emphasising the importance of defensive driving, hazard perception, & accident prevention, providing feedback and maintaining records of progress, lessons and logbook hours.
Are you social media savvy? This conservation and nature preservation organisation would really value your assistance in keeping their Facebook, Instagram and YouTube sites up to date. You'd help maintain their online presence in order to maximise impact and promote their programs and activities. You'll have the opportunity to use your creativity writing, sharing, and posting.
If you enjoy working in the outdoors, this is the role for you. You'll assist with mowing, whipper-snipping, hand weeding, spraying, mulching and planting. All PPE and equipment (self-propelled mowers, whipper-snippers etc) provided. All chemical use is under strictly controlled conditions. No previous gardening/groundsperson experience required, but would be useful.
Do you like working outdoors? You'll be physically active and able to assist this heritage organisation to maintain their grounds (approximately 1 hectare) for the enjoyment of visitors. Tasks include mowing, mulching, trimming, weeding etc. Some gardening and grounds maintenance experience would be an advantage however, any interest in these fields would be appropriate. This role involves maintaining and restoring wooden bodied heritage railway rolling stock (rail motors) for operation on the national rail network. Maintaining other wooden facilities within our Depot precinct. Our maintenance facilities are located in our Depot at Paterson. Your reliability and enthusiasm will be appreciated, as will your previous woodworking or carpentry experience.
