As a volunteer you will be working across a variety of spaces - both our Autistic Young Persons Program and Siblings Program as well as participating in general duties that all team members undertake such as setting up areas for activities, packing away and light cleaning during a 6 day camp
This volunteer opportunity will help to provide information, support and assistance to male respondents of Domestic Violence Orders at the Noosa, Maroochydore and Caloundra Courts. Down Syndrome Queensland (DSQ) is organising for our young adults with Down syndrome to attend our Challenge Weekend Camps throughout the year and require volunteers to assist us with this event. There are multiple opportunities throughout the year: we will require the volunteers to be available from 3pm Friday to approximately 12pm Sunday. The co-facilitator of a pain support group (PSG) for Sunshine Coast University Hospital region helps the group to: share their experiences of living with chronic pain, educate the group about self-management techniques and to effectively use healthcare settings. The PSG provides an avenue for people with pain to socialise with others and reduce the isolation of chronic pain. The group meets once a month for 1.5 to 2 hours. We're looking for multiple facilitators for a number of new groups.
