St John Ambulance QLD is looking for a Vietnamese speaking volunteer for our Community Visitor Program where volunteers visit an elderly resident for an hour, once a fortnight in Greenbank. As a Community Visitor Volunteer, your visits may include a conversation, listening to music and doing an activity together.
We're looking for a person with a lived experience of chronic pain who is interested in giving back to others. This is a shared role, willing to meet others face to face to create an inclusive and supportive social network in the Logan Central area. Experience with chronic pain is a must. 5 to 8 hours per month.
This role will support participants who have limited access to transport and are socially isolated to participate in SSI’ Multicultural Sports Club (MSC) programs and activities, such as Youth Night, by driving them to and from their home to the activities.
This role will support SSI’s Multicultural Sports Club staff to plan, coordinate and conduct MSC programs and activities, such as Youth Night. The MSC strives to promote social inclusion through sport by encouraging the concept of sportsmanship and mateship across cultural boundaries while seeking to address the barriers that culturally and linguistically diverse youth have to face when participating in sport, as well as linking them with local social, sporting and vocational opportunities.
Support our Community Development team by tutoring primary age to year 12 students from refugee and migrants backgrounds with maths at our Homework Program.
