Calling all "kids at heart"! The Newcastle and Hunter Toy Library is seeking a regular volunteer to assist with the running of the Toy Library sessions on Saturday mornings. The Toy Library is a terrific service based at New Lambton Library and run entirely by volunteers.

Do you have good teamwork skills and like helping others? Clothing Pool Volunteers will assist with the operation of the Clothing Pool at our Centre. This role involves unpacking and sorting donated clothing according to a set of guidelines, including sorting according to size and season. Packaging clothing and delivering items and packs to the Centre via a trolley from the Volunteer Office. Reviewing and maintaining stock levels, including assisting with targeted appeals for donations.

You'll love this volunteer opportunity to chat, provide companionship and reduce their sense of isolation. The commitment is for a minimum of one hour per week for 12 months or longer. Our orgnaisations Sayer 45, is out on the water 4 days per week during school term, running up to 6 programs every week. A maintenance coordinator is required to assist with maintenance jobs on the vessel and coordinate big jobs. Maintenance jobs could be booking the vessel into the boatyard for an antifoul, ordering parts (as authorised), checking fuel levels, replacing a broken latch, checking stauntions for splits, washing the deck, organising working bees and tidying the shed.
Our orgnaistion has in excess of 40 local volunteers and our boat is out on the water 4 days per week during school term running up to 6 programs every week. We are seeking a Volunteer Crew Coordinator to ensure we have enough crew with experience on each program sail. Your customer service, IT skills and previous experience with youth will be advantageous for this role.
Work with this friendly and positive team to actively engage with and support young people on program. Programs may include face to face activities such as Activity days, Camps, and ‘Connect’ sessions (online). Your communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport will assist and support young people whilst on Program, building a relationship of trust. Your planning and communication skills will be highly regarded in this role working with Community User Groups. We are seeking a volunteer to liaise with various sporting clubs to create a collective events calendar. The calendar will identify each club's planned activities. The role also involves planning and coordinating weekly interviews with each of the sporting bodies as well as Community Radio to promote awareness of upcoming events.
Assist Learner Driver client(s) to practise driving skills and improve knowledge of road rules - ultimately leading to the client(s) passing the ‘P’ Licence Driving test. You will assist clients in improving their knowledge of road rules, make entries in the client’s driving log book, engage with the client in a friendly, supportive manner, and provide Driving Supervision appropriate to the client’s skill levels and pace of learning. Driving practise will be in the clients car.
