Responsibilities may include connecting with volunteers and scheduling their availability, responding to inquiries, and providing general office support, assist with pop-up information stores in shopping centre. Your contribution will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission.
MDFA's Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.
The Volunteer Educator role is perfect for someone looking to build on their communications skills and gain experience working in the not-for-profit sector. Based throughout Australia, you will be an important part of a team who are supporting people who are at risk of, or living with, macular disease.
The Macular Disease Foundation of Australia (MDFA) is the national peak body representing the macular disease community. Our four pillars of work include: prevention and early detection, supporting the community to live optimally with macular conditions, systemic advocacy and research. There are an estimated 1.4m Australians with some evidence of age-related macular degeneration, which is the most common macular disease.

Being a large organisation, responsible for the care of over 50,000 animals annually, we are looking for reliable individuals to help transport both domestic and wild animals locally and regionally, and help with other tasks, such as collecting donated food.
As a Volunteer Administration Assistant, you are the ‘face’ of RSPCA, the first person people see when they visit the shelter. In this role, you are responsible for coordinating our very busy reception desk at the shelter; tasks include meeting and greeting customers, assisting with data entry, answering enquiries in person and by phone or email, typing in correspondence and other general office administration tasks.
This rewarding role would suit volunteers who enjoy engaging with members of the community and promoting the programs and services that RSPCA Qld provides in the community. You’ll be part of the Community Crew team and participating in a range of different activities, including (but not limited to!) market stalls, events, barbeques, adoption events, and corporate events.
