Join us on Sunday 20th May at Dicky Beach for a free morning tea to celebrate volunteers everywhere. The morning will kick off at 8:30am (please meet at our office at 7am if you require transport) and will include a friendly marine debris collection competition and talks about wildlife and conservation from other local groups before finishing at 12:30.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Horticultural Department manages all botanical displays throughout The Sanctuary as well as four established Eucalypt plantations to grow food to feed our collection of koalas and other herbivorous mammals each day. Volunteers are required to assist with the process of improving and maintaining our botanical displays at The Sanctuary. As at 23/4/ 2018 THURSDAY is the only day available.

Squirrel Gliders are a wrist-winged gliding marsupial threatened by habitat loss, fire and predated by dogs and cats. These unique species inhabit wet eucalypt forests in Queensland and need old growth forests and tree hollows to survive.

The endangered Eastern Curlew is the largest migratory wader that visits Australia. These amazing birds migrate all the way to the Arctic Circle in order to breed and can be seen in Japan, Korea and Borneo as they journey to these breeding grounds.

We are seeking a volunteer who can help with administration and communication needs. You would be a person who has a strong interest in conservation and becoming an active member promoting edible landscape gardens in public open space. This crucial role would be the first point of contact for our supporters and volunteers, strong communication skills (both verbal and written) are important to provide administrative and communication support to various EdibleScapes programs.
