Volunteers to perform an Activity Assistant role are required to help frail, aged and those with a disability participate in a leisure and recreational program.
A volunteer is required who is able to relate to aged people with good communication skills, is versatile and able to work in a team environment. You will be joining a band of 12 dedicated volunteers who have been with us for some time. Help support our guests each Wednesday between 8.30am - 12.00pm.
This Aged care facility provides lots of outings and activities for their residents. Activity Assistants, both Male & Female are required to assist the staff generally. Outings can include movie days, concerts, lunches, sight seeing outings and craft mornings. Bingo mornings are always fun for everyone, come along and lend a hand. You can just be reading to residents or interact with residents for companionship. Long Term 6 month minimum commitment required.

Provide support to the divisional therapy group for people who are socially isolated, frail, aged or disabled. Duties would include preparing and serving morning tea, assisting with craft activities and generally assisting with patient comfort. These are not work experience roles. They are positions that staff are not paid for or expected to perform. Must be independently able to follow instructions which will involve a high level of both verbal and written communication skills.

A Volunteer is needed to travel in the vehicle with the Activities Officer to take a group of residents shopping at the local Center. They would then accompany certain residents while at the shopping center according to need and instruction from staff, and travel back with them afterwards. This role is for Wednesday 9am - 12 noon
