The LMVA Playroom is operated by the Lyell McEwin Volunteer Association, for the use of individual who have appointments or are visiting patients within the Health Service. The facilitator of a pain support group (PSG) helps the group to: share their experiences of living with chronic pain, educate the group about self-management techniques and to effectively use healthcare settings. The PSG provides an avenue for people with pain to socialise with others and reduce the isolation of chronic pain. The group meets once a month for 1.5 to 2 hours.
The Friends of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Incorporated, Shops Auxiliary Division run two shops within the Women’s and Children’s Hospital (WCH), called Rainbows and Vic’s. Monies raised by sales in the shops are donated to purchase equipment for the WCH. Stroke SA is a non profit organisation based in Hilton SA. Our aim is to provide support and information to people who have had stroke and their carers. We also provide information to individuals and the community to assist in the prevention of stroke and rehabilitation for those with stroke.
