Gallery Assistants are a part of an exciting creative environment and work work amongst a team of engaging, committed and creative individuals. Gallery Assistants play a key role in the day to day running of our Galleries to ensure the Galleries are welcoming and friendly environments. Tasks include patrolling the galleries to ensure visitors abide by gallery regulations and assist with clearing visitors from the premises at closing time. Good people skills and ability to respond to enquiries.

Volunteers will need to have a desire to engage with older people from a range of backgrounds and have a special interest to share eg art, music, cooking, gardening, reading to residents. Previous experience with people living with dementia would be advantageous. You will need to have a sense of humour, able to display empathy and be patient.

They assist the Shared Skills deliver with nominated tasks, promote the Shared Skills program and The Community Centre – Goolwa’s activities, encourage creative expression, involvement and self-responsibility in the participant, carry out duties specific to the position description, contributing to the effective running of the program.

If required volunteer will assist participants transport on ACPA bus and carry out duties specific to position description, contributing to the effective running of the program.
Assist in preparation of the activity: Art, Craft, Bingo, Board Games, Social Functions, Walks and Bus outings. Assist residents to and from activity. Clean equipment and areas after activity. Assist with all activities and provide the Living Well staff support in making each event a happy and positive environment.
Volunteers required to help us with making "Giving Plates" - volunteers with an artistic flair who are keen to give it a go are much needed.
Primary Purpose of Position: Someone with keen interest and expertise in sewing, looking for library bag style bags, and possibly heat packs open to the more ideas. Sewing machine and materials are provided.
