Bring joy and social connection to an elderly resident by visiting them once a week for the purpose of providing companionship. This opportunity falls under the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS) and is designed to combat loneliness and isolation.
Do you like to have a chat and enjoy the company of others? Our Volunteer Visitors service connects volunteers with people who are experiencing loneliness or isolation. These roles are available in a variety of locations with people who have a variety of interests and backgrounds. We will introduce you to people with similar interests and pastimes. These may include having a coffee and a chat and sharing stories, enjoying hobbies or simply relaxing and watching the world go by.
Your strong literacy and numeracy skills, and your patience and dedication, will be highly regarded in this role, assisting Adult Vocational Education students who may be challenged by, or face barriers with, the literacy and numeracy requirements within the course they are undertaking. You’ll assist a student with reading, writing & numeracy exercises, sometimes during class and sometimes one-on-one.
