Everyone is welcome to volunteer at parkrun events. We have heaps of fun, simple and rewarding opportunities to lend a hand for one to two hours on a Saturday morning at parkrun events across Australia. No training is required, roles are fully supported on the day and you can take part as often or as little as you would like. MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.

Red Nose Day is our headline fundraising campaign each year, raising funds to support the work of Red Nose in saving little lives and caring for bereaved families, and raising awareness for the cause. Merchandise stall holders collect cash and facilitate EFTPOS donations, and sell small merchandise. Support Red Nose funding vital programs and bereavement care services.
