We are always seeking experienced volunteer drivers with a Light Rigid class licence and a good driving record. We drive Day Center and Mens’ Shed clients from home to Glenview and back, take our residents and clients on lunch outings and generally have a lot of fun. Why don't you join us?
The EACH Music Program is unique and supports older adults to play, join in, learn, and socialise all within a musical context. There are two groups available. The EACH Music Group is about playing and singing and socialising. The EMU Performance group is available for participants who wish to explore theory, better their musicality, and learn to play and perform with other like-minded musicians or potential musicians.
A small group of older adults play games in the morning primarily revolving around cribbage and cards and a social tea/cake style of engagement.
The volunteer assistant supports the group facilitator to manage the group activity and the travel to locations within the community around the state over a days out and about.
We offer training to caring and compassionate people interested in offering vital social support to our residents experiencing dementia. Our wonderful staff can ensure you have many ideas and activities to share, A simple walk outside or game can make such a difference for our residents. Knowing you have made someone's day brighter can be very satisfying!
Our Glenview Mens shed operates out of our Bisdee Day centre and caters for day visitors experiencing the beginning stages of dementia. If you are a caring and cheery male who enjoys a chat and helping others, we need you! Our volunteers assist our clients to enjoy their day out; offering support to paint, make items and have a cuppa with the biggest biscuit tin in the southern hemisphere. Skills with tools may be helpful, but not essential. Your kindness, sense of fun and compassion are!

To transport clients and their carers, to and from medical and social appointments. Driving involves local and long distance transport. Assisting clients in and out of vehicles, helping with seat belts, appropriate storage of bags and equipment.
As a Social Support Volunteer you will visit a client in their own home to have a cuppa and a chat, go for a walk, read to or other support directed by coordinator. You may also assist a client with their shopping or do their shopping on their behalf, using your own vehicle. You may also be required to provide respite for a carer. It is a requirement that you are able to commit 4 hours a month.
