MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Co-Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to guide a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.
Do you speak Greek? We have a lovely older resident who speaks limited English, she is socially isolated and would love to be visited by an enthusiastic, compassionate, female, Greek speaking volunteer visitor. She would really benefit from some happy energy in her life.

Social connections are essential to the well-being of older people. This is a short-term volunteer assignment that can be done with friends! Candidates with a passion for reading English books and strong reading and writing skills in English are encouraged to apply.
