Engagement Champions are Chapter Volunteers that have been charged with an extra responsibility to drive homeless participation in their relevant region. Engagement Champions are required to attend at least one session per week, with a strong preference to attend two or three where possible. This is due to the criticalness of homeless participants being able to recognise the person who they met with initially to the program.
Run Champions are Chapter Volunteers that have been charged with an extra responsibility to assist in coordinating the running/exercise training sessions in conjunction with the Chapter Coordinator. A Chapter may have multiple Run Champions – all of whom assist with functions relating to the actual training undertaken at the Chapter.
Skills and Development Champions are Chapter Volunteers that have been charged with an extra responsibility to assist in providing local training and development opportunities for homeless participants. These opportunities may include but are not limited to work experience opportunities, volunteer positions, up skilling sessions and internal volunteer roles. All of these opportunities are aimed at improving the employability of participants and facilitating personal development.
Chapter Coordinators are the leaders of their assigned Chapter – coordinating the tasks required to run the Chapter, whilst reporting all outcomes and updates to the Chapter Manager. A Chapter Coordinator should look to delegate roles and responsibilities rather than assume all of the tasks themselves. It is the job of the Chapter Coordinator to make sure everything runs smoothly and targets/outcomes are met.
Chapter Volunteers are the heart of our Chapters. At each session, Chapter Volunteers will embark on the session side-by-side with the participants, supporting them through the run or walk and engaging in positive dialogue. There is no homelessness at our Chapters – the volunteers and the participants wear the same uniform and everyone is afforded the same respect.
