The Australian Red Cross presents workshops in schools, community groups and workplaces to build awareness and empathy for the experiences of asylum seekers and refugees. Real life stories, simulations and fact-based presentations are used in interactive ways to foster approaches across the community based on humanity, compassion and inclusion.
This role suits someone who is passionate about the experiences of asylum seekers and refugees, demonstrates flair in a public speaking setting and is interested in exploring ideas and meanings held in the community on issues of forced migration. You will have the opportunity to build your skills as a facilitator and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities offered by Australian Red Cross.
As a Community Conversations Facilitator, you will engage with school children, professionals and the broader community to support strong, humanised narratives of asylum seekers and refugees. As a result, you will foster social cohesion, harmony and inclusion of diverse groups of people.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
