Have a current Working with Children and/or Vulnerable People Check or be willing to obtain.
Be willing to complete a National Police Check with the organisation (Arranged by MAX Solutions.
Have a good understanding of people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and sensitivity towards diverse cultures.
Have a high degree of English language proficiency.
The Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) is a settlement program, helping new migrants and humanitarian entrants learn basic English skills, which will assist them to successfully and confidently participate socially and economically in Australian society.
New Home Tutors complete a training program (15+ hours). This training may be over two full days or over shorter sessions plus participate in some classroom observations.
Home Tutors will be matched with a student after the training has been completed with ongoing support.
