Orange Sky Australia, founded in 2014 by friends Lucas Patchett and Nicholas Marchesi, is a not-for-profit organisation providing free mobile laundry and shower services to people experiencing homelessness. Through a network of 24+ vans and 1200+ amazing volunteers, our services are now positively connecting communities all around Australia.

We are currently looking for applicants for the 2 roles of Assistant Service Managers in our Darwin team who can help us continue to change the lives of our friends on the street every day!

The persons selected for these roles will work alongside the Service Manager to ensure the service runs smoothly and all volunteers have the tools and resources they need to help our friends on the street. You might assist the service by:

Assistant Service Manager - 2IC to Service Manager
• Be the Team Leader liaison person when volunteers required
• Assist Service Manager with volunteer coordination, including rostering, recruiting and training
• Organising training events for new volunteers (including sourcing venues)
• Facilitating speaking events with the Service Manager
• Join regular shift or at least visit 1-2 shifts per month
• Attend an online monthly meeting with other Assistant Service Managers
• Step in as Service Manager as required

Assistant Service Manager - Newsletter & Communications
• Responsible for creating & distributing the monthly newsletter for the Darwin team. This entails reaching out to teams for any good news about their shift, sharing information from HQ on updates and liaising with the Service Manager on any other content.
• Create & distribute any other communications required
• Manage the Darwin secret Facebook group - add & remove members
• Attend an online monthly meeting with other Assistant Service Managers
• Any other adhoc tasks to assist Service Manager & other Assistant Service Manager
• Join regular shift or at least visit 1-2 shifts per month

We are looking for candidates who have up to 5-10 hours per week to commit to Orange Sky. To be successful, you will be smart with technology, great with people and have a genuine passion to help others.
