About Us

Furry Friends Animal Rescue Organisation QLD is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes animal welfare by providing temporary foster homes for homeless pets, adopting them to qualified homes and reducing overpopulation through the desexing of all animals.

Instead of the traditional animal shelter model, Furry Friends operates remotely, with animals being carefully placed with volunteer Foster Carers until they are adopted.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and perform recruitment activities e.g. research role requirements, draft and review position descriptions and job ads, post and market job ads, review and shortlist applications, and interview candidates to make recommendations to line managers. • Manage recruitment channels to attract suitably qualified candidates • Perform employment activities up to onboarding, such as conducting the onboarding briefing • Perform exit procedures for volunteers who are leaving or transferring to other divisions. • Reporting to management as required e.g. recruitment statistics • Any other HR tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the HR Coordinator

Commitment Required

This role requires atleast 2-5 hours per week (including a weekly or fortnightly meeting with the HR team) for a minimum commitment of 6 months. Working hours are flexible as long as you manage your time well. However, responsiveness to both organisational needs as well as candidates is crucial in order to attract and recruit selected talent.
