About this opportunity
Due to the nature of our work (rehabilitating joeys for eventual release into the wild), we're looking for regular volunteers ideally, whom the joeys would become comfortable with. Although, we're happy to have someone volunteer for a few hours once in a while just collect poop from the grass also! The work is varied and no day is the same, as everything is dictated by the ages of the joeys and their behaviour each day. Work might include cleaning a joey room, poop pick up, washing and changing blankets and pouches, sterilising bottles & teats, feeding the joeys, collecting fresh browse and bark from the bush or spending time simply sitting on the grass with the orphans to encourage them to eat grass.
