Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join their Canine Court Companion Program. Applicants will enjoy socialising with people, have a genuine love of dogs, good dog-handling skills and an interest in animal assisted therapy. As a Therapy Dog Handler you and your therapy dog will work as a team to help provide support to potentially anxious or distressed court users. Where: Lismore Court House, 9-11 Zadoc St Lismore NSW When: Weekdays Time: 9am -10.30am

Essential:

• Ability to host a specially selected Therapy Dog full-time in your home
• Good dog-handling skills
• Ability to manage a Labrador dog.
• Ability to safely transport a Labrador dog.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to commit to 1 morning per week for 12 months.
• Capacity to attend information and training sessions.
• Working With Children Check
• National Police Check

Guide Dogs NSW/ACT will provide ongoing training and support to successful applicants.
