A few hours
Tuesdays 1-3pm as well as every second Thursday of the month at Bupa Aged Care.
Boomerang Bags provide all the support and training you need to get you up and running.
Boomerang Bags relies heavily on the goodwill, skills and expertise of our volunteers and they enable us to offer a range of services to the Kyneton and surrounding communities as well as bringing a wealth of local knowledge and skills.
In a nutshell, we couldn’t do what we do without our wonderful volunteers. There are lots of different jobs in our group and we do our best to match each person to their passion.
We meet each Tuesday 1-3pm at the Community House, 34 Mollison Street, Kyneton. We also meet on the second Thursday of the month at Bupa Aged Care, Kyneton.
During our group days and at our working bees we cut up fabric, do some sewing, teach people how to sew, sometimes we also do ironing and even screen printing.
Kids are welcome.
We offer volunteers:
Improved communication skills
Closer links to your community
Opportunities to network
A sociable working environment
Flexible contribution hours
A variety of roles
Active community support
We provide all the support and training you need to get you up and running - including a warm welcome. There are take-home kits available at the Community House anytime. These are easy to use and most have the handles pre-done. We are also looking for people to help with a stall outside Woolworths and IGA supermarkets.
We also have a range of products for sale like Bought to Support bags and produce bags. All the money made goes towards servicing machines, buying cotton, needles and other supplies.
