About the role
We are looking for a Public Relations Coordinator to join our team. You will be responsible for developing communication materials intended to raise awareness of our mission and generate interests around our programs. Ultimately, you should be able to act as the voice of our brand, writing accurate, appealing and marketing-oriented pieces in journalistic, feature article style. This is a volunteer position reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager.
What you will do
Regularly produce various content types, including email, website, presentations, marketing collateral, brochures, reports, journals, blog posts and articles, for both external and internal distribution. Actively manage and promote our blog, and pitch articles to relevant third-party platforms Develop the organisation’s monthly newsletter (briefing, research, interviews & content writing) Writing press news releases for print, broadcast, and digital media Dealing with enquiries from the public, the press, and related organisations Analysing media coverage Developing and maintaining relationships with journalists, editors, media producers, bloggers, and other media influencers to create a strong network Attending promotional events Support the Social Media Community Manager creating informative and appealing posts for social media platforms Edit content produced by other members of the team Collaborate with other departments to create innovative content ideas Coordinate with Marketing, Social Media and Communications teams to help achieve corporate marketing goals and ensure brand consistency Tracking results of public relations efforts
You will bring
Strong written and oral communication skills Strong proofreading and editing skills Familiarity with digital marketing analysis tools Working knowledge of Associated Press (AP style) Awareness of different media agendas Knowledge of public relations strategies and protocols Strong organizational skills Creativity Attention to detail and ability to multitask An energetic and enthusiastic personality Ability to work independently and autonomously
