    • Driver's Licence (C)

    The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
    -Previous experience as a Treasurer highly advantageous
    -Previous experience in accounting/bookkeeping
    -Previous experience using electronic bookkeeping software
    -Ability to commit to at least 1 hour per week (not including monthly Board Meetings)
    -Ability to increase volunteer hours during peak reporting times, generally between August and November
    -Commitment to attend monthly Board meetings (usually a couple of hours per month) in the Ipswich region
    -Understanding and experience with auditors and preparing annual reports, preferred but not essential
    -Academic qualifications in accounting and/or bookkeeping
    -Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    -Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    -Previous experience working with a Board and/or as Board member is preferred but not essential
    -Own transport
    -Volunteer must have the right to work/volunteer in Australia

About the organisation:

The Goonda Community Association is best known for staging the annual Jacaranda Festival at Goodna, held in October each year.

The Goodna Jacaranda Festival is a much loved community festival that celebrates the wonderfully diverse lifestyle in our region.

About the position:

A rare opportunity has become available for a volunteer Treasurer to join the Goodna Community Association Board and contribute to the overall financial recording and reporting for the organisation.

Duties include but are not limited too -Collecting and filing invoices -Maintaining financial records (in an electronic bookkeeping system) -Liaising with the President and Secretary for the payment of invoices -Preparing and distributing financial reports to the Board as required -Prepare and maintain financial records for auditors and annual reporting -Attend Board meetings -General administrative duties as required -Assist with the Jacaranda Festival (on the day support)
