Girl Guides Queensland is a Member of Girl Guides Australia and of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and a member of Queensland Youth Alliance (QYA).
Girl Guides Queensland is an autonomous organisation which manages its affairs based on the Guides Queensland Constitution with accepted practices and policies set out in Girl Guides Australia's Guide Lines. Guide Lines details the requirements of the organisation and incorporates the policy and rules of Girl Guides Australia and WAGGGS. The Girl Guides Queensland Board directs the general policy of the Association, providing vision and decision making for all Girl Guides Queensland policies. This role will suit a highly organised individual with prior experience on a NFP Board or similar position. The successful applicant will be able to translate their good governance experience, specifically the effective and efficient operation of a Board or senior management team, into real outcomes for the benefit of Girl Guides Qld.
To be successful in this role, you must have a genuine desire and motivation to contribute to and develop the existing work of Girl Guides Qld. In addition to contributing your skills and knowledge, you will be expected to attend board meetings, be responsible for the drafting and distributing of the minutes and coordination of completion of action items by Board members, and other duties as outlined in the position description.
It is expected the role will involve up to three hours work per week (flexible according to business requirements) and the successful candidate will have access to the resources at the State Office in Windsor.
