This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in gardening or plant nursery. Volunteers are needed to assist with plant propagation, potting up seedings, nursery maintenance and clean up. Seed treatment, sorting and cleaning. Seed collection in outdoor revegetation areas or remnant bushland. Tree planting in the field or native garden. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and training in gardening and plant nursery.

Youth between 14 and 17yrs, can volunteer, if there is a legal guardian present (e.g. parent, teacher).

Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing and footwear, take drink and snack, It is helpful if volunteers have their own transport as we are located 20 to 30 minutes from St Marys Station. Volunteers are needed during the week last Saturday of the month.

Volunteers will benefit from increasing their knowledge and understanding of the local environment. Gain new skills and experience. Increase networks, meet new people, opportunities to be involved in many activities during the year, such as community tree planting, schools visit to the Nursery, seed collection and processes, stream watch, attend workshops.

Training will be provided in propagation and nursery techniques, plant identification in natives and introduced species, bush regeneration techniques, tree planting, stream watch, seed collection and processing, landscaping, basic tool and machinery use, WH&S training.

An intermediate level of English required.
