Ambulance Officer - Southern Tasmania

    There is no specific profile to determine suitability, but the ability to keep a level head, empathy, ability to communicate, common sense, enthusiasm and a desire to want to help other people are valuable attributes.

  • Reimbursement

    Full uniform is provided and volunteers are reimbursed for a wide range of out-of-pocket expenses.

Ambulance Tasmania provides emergency ambulance care through a network of 52 stations state-wide, of which 41 are staffed with volunteers.

This position can be based in Oatlands, Bothwell, Sorell, South Arm, Dodges Ferry, Dunalley, Nubeena, Huonville, Dover, New Norfolk, Ellendale, Maydena, Wayatinah and on Bruny Island. Volunteer Ambulance Officers work closely with salaried paramedics and attend ambulance cases, provide emergency medical care, transport patients by ambulance and complete case and other documentation as required.

Full training is provided and is ongoing.
