About this opportunity
Are you a giving person, who gets satisfaction from small acts of kindness to others? Why not become a volunteer at the Prison Fellowship Visitors Centre, assisting families visiting their loved ones in prison? You will help with visitor appointments and visitor administration.
We need volunteers to welcome visitors and to help with the paperwork for all visitors going into the prison. This involves finding the visitor on the Appointment List, establishing where the prisoner is making an appointment for the visitor.
Volunteers may need to work under a little pressure at peak visiting times, but there are also quiet periods. You can enjoy a cup of tea, meeting some lovely people and providing help and assistance to the families and children that come in to the centre.
Attention to detail and accuracy are very important.
Please note, the Visitor Centre is not within the prison and there is no contact with prison inmates.
