About this opportunity
There are many people in the Melbourne north-east metro area who have an Intellectual disability and need someone to give them some time and encouragement. Please google North East Citizen Advocacy and visit our facebook page for more information.
North East Citizen Advocacy aims to promote, facilitate and support advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities. It does so, by carefully finding and supporting ordinary and giving citizens, who'd like to make a positive difference in the life of a person with an intellectual disability, who is vulnerable or at risk. NECA takes care in selecting the right people to become a citizen advocate and provides tailored orientation sessions, ongoing support and access to resources to assist with the role.
In this role, you would be a much valued member on our volunteer board which meets monthly to discuss the operations of the program and oversee the employed staff. Board members are a vital component in making NECA succeed in being able to continue with the work that greatly impacts on the lives of our protégés.
