Have you had a baby in NICU/SCN and want to 'give back'? Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia's leading organisation that supports premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.

NurtureTime in-hospital support is facilitated by caring parents who themselves have experienced the birth of premature or sick newborn.

Our valuable NurtureTime Volunteers provide peer support, guidance and hope within the premises of approved hospitals, for families that have babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). Our in-hospital parent support sessions operate within NICU’s around Australia.

  • To be eligible for this role you must have experienced having a baby in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN).

Our NurtureTime Program can be held in a group setting in a morning tea style, close and suitable to the NICU or in individual support by the cot side or in a quiet area. We are seeking volunteers who are committed to volunteering fortnightly for 2 hours.

Parents, family and friends can ask you questions, whilst you provide them the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings’ and journey with you, knowing that you have also experienced a premature or sick newborn.

You will undertake training by both Miracle Babies Foundation and Campbelltown Hospital before being eligible to provide in-hospital support. This will include interviews by Miracle Babies and your chosen Hospital, as well as Working with Children and Criminal Record Checks.

Please only apply if you have had a baby in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN).

If you are committed, a people person, empathetic, and want to make a difference- we would love to hear from you!
