    3 hours per visit. At least 3 visits per month, however as many &/or few visits per month as available.

    Mandatory 2 Full Day Training Workshop, relevant training ongoing support.

  • Requirements

    ~ No formal qualifications required, however a broad understanding of mental health and disability sectors would be helpful.
    ~ Prepared to undertake Disability Related Employment Screening
    ~ Prepared to undertake Child Related Employment Screening.
    ~ Good communication skills.
    ~ A desire to help individuals through advocacy.
    ~ Dedication to improving services.
    ~ Access to internet and mobile phone essential.
    This position is not suitable for people working fulltime.

    Out of Pocket expenses reimbursed and half yearly honorarium provided

The Community Visitor Scheme is seeking volunteers who are passionate about protecting the rights of people with a mental illness or disability and improving the care and treatment provided to them whilst in hospital or living in disability accommodation or Supported Residential Facilities (SRF's), or attending Day Options programs.

The Community Visitor Scheme is your opportunity to provide much needed support and advocacy to people with a mental illness or disability. Relevant training and ongoing support, including financial support, is provided to all volunteers appointed to the role.
