    • National Police Certificate *

    Understanding of the elderly, communication skills, commitment, respect for confidence, cultural sensitivity, awareness, and empathy for the aged. Location: Various. Insurance covers volunteers between 10 and 90 years.

Visit elderly residents of nursing homes once a fortnight, spending quality time, be a companion, friend, confidante to the resident, assist resident to take part in community activities, attend training and support meetings. (Once a fortnight).

Benefits: Satisfaction of making a difference to the lives of people in care, gain experience in aged care, supporting community organisations.

Training: One day training, plus short visit to nursing home.
