Choice Passion Life (formerly known as the Cerebral Palsy League) is a non-profit organisation that provides vital support to more than 8,000 children and adults with cerebral palsy and physical disabilities. We work alongside our clients to help them achieve important life milestones.
We are always looking for volunteers to come and join our team, so we'd love to hear from you!
CPL's Ashgrove Service is looking for friendly volunteers to share their hobbies and interests with like minded clients.
Do you enjoy music and dance? Are you a friendly and sociable person that can support people with disabilities to participate in their hobbies and interests?
If you have an interest in dance and are enthusiastic about encouraging positive social experiences, this volunteer role is perfect for you! Every Friday afternoon CPL’s Ashgrove Service has a disco to round off the busy week, and they are looking for volunteers who can share their passion for dancing and connecting in a social setting.
Your duties will include:
• Conducting friendly, professional encounters with clients.
• Encouraging wheelchair users with participation in the dance space.
• Assisting with basic choreography of wheelchair dances e.g. figures of eight and shapes on the dance floor.
For this role the volunteer will be expected to attend the end of week disco dance between 1.30pm and 3pm on Fridays.
Make a difference and support people with a disability to live the life they choose!
Please note, at CPL all staff and volunteers must hold either a valid Blue Card with Yellow Card Exemption or a Yellow Card. CPL will assist you to apply for these cards which are free for volunteers.
