    As the Family Room operates from 8am - 8pm 7 days a week the Smile Squad shifts are split up into 3hr blocks to cover the operating hours. Current shift times are: 8am - 11am 11am - 2pm 2pm - 5pm 5pm - 8pm We would love Volunteers to contribute to a minimum of 1 shift per fortnight

  • Training

    The successful applicant would be required to complete our volunteer induction, with all other training provided on the job.

  • Requirements
    • Working with Children Check *

    Working with Children Check is required, if you do not already have a Blue Card we can assist you in applying for one.

    As part of volunteering with RMHCNA, you will need to be over eighteen years of age, and successfully complete our induction process.

The volunteer role requires you to;

Welcome people of all backgrounds to the Family Room in an engaging, tolerant and compassionate manner Provide basic hospitality to families including making cups of tea and assisting families with accessing the kitchen facilities Light housekeeping (general clean up and making beds in the nap room on occasion) Being dependable and reliable to fulfil your shift or provide notice of changes Representing the Charity in a positive manner at all times, being respectful and courteous to others. Always being open to and willing to learn in your volunteer role

Be reliable and trustworthy Attend an information session Be able to obtain a Blue Card (Working with Children Check) - this requires you to be 18 years old or more Complete and induction and introductory shift
