Australian Federation of International Students (AFIS) is an award-winning organisation for Excellence in International Student Experience in 2016. Continuing the legacy, AFIS is bringing you yet another exciting experience by giving you the opportunity to be part of the organising team for the 2019 AFIS Info Day.
Info Day, hosted in collaboration with Study Melbourne, is a key portal and platform that allows international students of all backgrounds to access important and relevant information about studying, living, and working in Victoria — all in one convenient and accessible event!
Our sessions have helped over 4,400 students in the past years, and the positive feedback has been staggering. Being part of this event is a definite opportunity to meet friends and learn about project management.
What is expected of you? Volunteers would constitute the Event Committee to create a vibrant environment. Volunteers are expected to: • Contribute in meaningful way • Be enthusiastic • Show enduring passion and motivation • Share and learn • Be able to work proactively, both independently and in collaboration • Most of all; HAVE FUN!!
What’s in it for you? • Meet new people and make friends from diverse backgrounds • Develop cross-cultural communication and social skills • Expand and develop your professional network • Face new experiences and challenges • Gain the satisfaction of helping other international students in settling into Australia
AND BEST OF ALL You would receive a Certificate of Appreciation that would be useful for your future job hunt. All you need to do is commit yourself to 8 hours of volunteering per week including a weekly meeting every Saturday from 26th of January 2019 until 2nd of March 2019, in addition to volunteering for the Info Day itself which would be a full day event in the second week of March 2019.
Applications close on 8 January 2019 and interviews will be held on 12 January 2019.
