Our volunteers are all young people who provide their opinion on the way headspace runs to ensure services, resources, and events are appropriate, relevant, and engaging. The Register of Appropriate Persons (RASP) provides support to young people who are required to be interviewed by police. The objective is to support these young people at times when another responsible adult is unavailable. The RASP volunteer presence helps young people feel confident that their rights will be respected, they have support to make conscious & informed decisions about how they interact with police during interviews, custody or charging processes and are treated fairly.
Do you want to make a difference in a young child's life? We are seeking caring and compassionate volunteers to spend one hour a week (during school hours) to mentor a student who requires a positive and supportive role model in their lives. You will be working on building their confidence and life skills in a safe and caring environment.
Volunteer Home Visiting aims to empower families and enhance their social inclusion through building their confidence and connection to their community with the support and companionship of a volunteer. Families are based across the Gold Coast and matching is based on volunteers' location and family/carers interests, availability and experience and the goals identified by the family. A Volunteer is matched to provide support one visit per week for 2 hours, over a minimum 6-month period.
