Weekend Academy is a hub for students to receive academic help and social support. In small groups we tutor them by helping with the schoolwork, interview skills and developing their portfolios. Activities and responsibilities are age appropriate as children range from 5 - 19 years of age. Weekend Academy is a program run by South Sudanese Australia Youth United and partner organisation to Land of Welcome.
Appro. two days per week to undertake basic office duties such as manage roster of volunteer receptionists and tutors. Manage email and maintain registers for assets, maintenance and repairs. Identify any training required for receptionists and ensure duty list is completed, these entail items such as inventory for stationery and kitchen. Checking the daily takings and bookings to ensure adequate resources are available when needed. Experience would be an advantage. 9.00am - 4 .00pm
A mature-age volunteer is required to share their wealth of knowledge with other like minded members. One on One or class group knowledge can be shared and tutored. A high level of skill using the iPhone, iPad and Android systems is required to assist our mature age students in becoming familiar with their electronic devices.
