Tutor - Adult Migrant English Program Tutor Scheme

The Volunteer Tutor Scheme involves training and matching volunteer tutors with newly arrived migrants and refugees from non-English speaking backgrounds. The purpose is to provide one-on-one English tuition to students who are unable to attend classes for various reasons. The Volunteer Tutor Scheme ensures that students do not become isolated or excluded from participating in the community due to language barriers. Each volunteer is matched with an individual student.

School Walking Coordinator

Albany Primary School are looking for some volunteers to walk with children from Bob Thompson Garden (via Baronia and Suffolk Sts.) to their pre-primary classrooms in the morning and/or also walk them safely from their pre-primary classroom at the end of school to Bob Thompson Gardens. Other children from the bus stop may also accompany the walkers. Volunteers need to be available from 8:15am to 8:45am and/or from 2:50pm to 3:20pm. Each volunteer will be responsible for one to ten children.
