Tutor - Adult Migrant English Program Tutor Scheme

The Volunteer Tutor Scheme involves training and matching volunteer tutors with newly arrived migrants and refugees from non-English speaking backgrounds. The purpose is to provide one-on-one English tuition to students who are unable to attend classes for various reasons. The Volunteer Tutor Scheme ensures that students do not become isolated or excluded from participating in the community due to language barriers. Each volunteer is matched with an individual student.

Cultural Support Group Childcare volunteer

Women volunteers assist ARA staff by providing childcare assistance to mothers attending facilitated Cultural Support groups and by providing friendship and support around raising children and family life. Three groups are held on a weekly basis at different Salisbury locations during school terms: one for Afghani women on Thursday mornings, one for Burmese Chin women on Wednesday lunch-times, and one for Syrian Women on Tuesday mornings

House To Grow is holding the 2018 Sydney ‘Colouring Dreams’ 3 Kilometre Walk on 19 August 2018 in Cabarita Park. We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join our team. Volunteers will be assigned to different tasks such as: welcoming participants and checking tickets, supervising children during activities, helping to serve lunch and lining the trail walk to direct participants.

Training and resources provided. Receive on-going support from the Community Speakers' Program Coordinator. Flexible position - Assume talks as per your availability. Aim to deliver at least 3 talks per calendar year.
