  7. Conserving Campbelltowns Koalas 26-10-2017

From Campbelltown to the Southern Highlands, Sydney’s south-west is home to nationally important populations of koalas virtually on the city’s doorstep. Yet despite the iconic status of the species, these populations are under serious threat from development and the effects of suburban sprawl. This program is a partnership involving CVA, local councils, NSW government, University experts and the community to help protect Sydney’s koalas and put them on the map!

  8. Restoring Hooka Point and its Endangered Communities 06-11-2017

Hooka Point is a regeneration site with small but precious remnants of coastal salt marsh at the mouth of Hooka Creek. Predominantly consisting of revegetation due to the historic use as grazing land, the area is a great example of what can be achieved in an urban environment. Our visits will target the removal of environmental weeds along the foreshore of Lake Illawarra, and facilitate the provision of habitat and connectivity to other remnant vegetation.
