The Abbey Museum is looking for volunteers to assist with the care and maintenance of the gardens and grounds. The gardens are an integral part of the Museum’s visitor experience and we need you to help to keep them looking beautiful and inviting for our patrons. You can work at your own pace and just enjoy working outdoors in a lovely environment with a bunch of friendly people.
The Abbey Museum is looking for volunteers who have sewing/dressmaking skills. Our sewing team primarily make costumes for the annual Medieval Festival and also our other historically themed events. They also make flags, bags and other items for sale. There is always something exciting going on.
The Abbey Museum is looking for volunteers to assist with keeping our facilities clean and tidy.. The Museum and Hall welcomes many visitors and students and is used for our events and activities. Keeping them clean is important and impacts on the visitor experience. We are committed to providing our visitors with a positive experience when they visit the Museum.
Throughout the year the Museum hosts a series of small events. These include a lecture series run by the Abbey Museum Friends, Picnic at Pemberley - a regency themed boutique event, a Medieval Christmas - an evening of Gregorian Chant and a Christmas Market. In this role our volunteer would be involved with the development, preparation and hosting of our events.
The Abbey Museum is looking for volunteers to assist with making and maintaining props for the annual Medieval Festival and other public programs. The Museum has an active annual program and our props are an important part of providing quality and engaging experience.
