Experience in large diesel engine maintenance required. Volunteers required to maintain our small fleet of diesel electric locomotives.
Volunteers needed to fill positions in the Museum shop. Role involves retail work, customer service, handling money and answering phones. Requires positive attitude and willingness to learn. Currently Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays available on a weekly basis.
We seek a volunteer to handle the Museum's Cafe Car bookings on weekends including instructing hirers in proper use of the carriage, cleaning the carriage afterwards, and reporting any damage. Cleaning includes wiping down tables and benches, sweeping and mopping floors.
Volunteer window cleaners required for cleaning of internal and external windows at the Railway Museum. Previous cleaning experience and/or course instruction preferred. Person must be able to perform duties with a minimum of supervision. Self motivation and an interest in the cleaning role.

Volunteer needed to assist spray painting for locomotive and carriage restoration work, as well as other general maintenance painting around the site. Role is on an as-needs basis, not continuous weekly. Experience with painting and spray painting required, including correct OH&S requirements.
Volunteer general cleaners required for cleaning of internal and external areas including emptying of bins and occasional toilet cleaning. Role also includes cleaning of heritage rolling stock and collection items. Previous cleaning experience and/or course instruction preferred. Requirements: Person must be able to perform duties with a minimum of supervision. Self motivation and an interest in the cleaning role required. Ability to use ladders desired but not necessary.
Volunteers required for restoration work on historic railway carriages, as well as display building and maintenance, and some general building maintenance. Carpenter/cabinetmaker/carriage builder/joiner experience required. Must be proficient in the safe use of wood working tools and machines.
Qualified electricians needed to assist in general electrical maintenance work e.g. changing office lights to LEDs rather than fluorescent lights, installing power points etc. Must have qualifications as required by regulations.
