The Lighthouse Café is a welcoming venue providing breakfast, lunch, coffee and tea, as well as support to people from all walks of life, especially those living on the margins of society. Lighthouse Cafe’s primary purpose is about building relationships with people and developing a strong sense of belonging and acceptance for all and to assist them out of their current state of homelessness. The Lighthouse Cafe operates from 8.15am to 2pm, Monday-Friday.

Youth Street Teams operate every Friday and Saturday night between 11pm-5am, 16-20 volunteers over the age of 18 head out on foot and in vehicles to the streets of Melbourne CBD, and engage with vulnerable and intoxicated young people who have come into the City from the suburbs for a night out.
Night Watch extends the capabilities of the Mobile Outreach and Youth Street Teams services to operate 7 nights per week. Night Watch consists of 2 qualified & experienced Salvation Army workers & a team of trained volunteers who are based at 69 Bourke Street, Melb, from 11pm-7am, as well as being mobile in Melb CBD. The teams pro-actively engage with people on the streets, responding to calls from Police, Emergency Services and the general public.
Program Summary: The Night Café will build upon the existing daytime Lighthouse Café operation to provide a welcoming, safe and inclusive place for anyone homeless or at risk of homelessness in the City of Melbourne. Based at 69 Bourke Street Melbourne, the space will be open from 11pm-7am, 7 nights a week and will be staffed by 2 trained Salvation Army staff and supported by a team of 3-5 volunteers each night.
