A fantastic way to see out of the way beaten track areas around Townsville. Creekwatch aims to involve the local community with their local environment. Creekwatch activities include macro-invertebrate, fish and fauna surveys and water quality testing. Come along and key out the bugs and fish and join the team to help in the great outdoors. Join CVA as we partner with members of Lamington Landcare Group to remove weeds growing along the upper reaches of Christmas Creek and its tributaries and plant native species to re-generate this region. By carrying out this work we envisage an increase in the abundance and spread of native plants which will create more suitable habitat for animal species.
SEAGRASS MONITORING is back! The Broome Community Seagrass Monitoring Project is one of the longest running and most successful community science projects in the Kimberley. The project engages large amounts of volunteers as well as Indigenous rangers to monitor seagrass meadows within Roebuck Bay.
